Pina Colada (Piňa Colada – also spelled together: pinacolada) is a very popular holiday drink. Its name comes from the Spanish: pina – pineapple, colada – strained, and it owes much of its popularity to a 1979 song “Escape” (also known as “The Pina Colada Song”), which was sang by Rupert Holmes.
The recipe for this drink is simple and can be found on the official list of cocktails of the International Bartenders Association – IBA in short.
For the preparation you need sine white rum, coconut milk and pineapple juice. This cocktail should be served in a cocktail glass Poco Grande, with a straw and a piece of pineapple.
- white rum (30 ml)
- coconut milk (30 ml)
- pineapple juice (90 ml)
- ice cubes
Preparation and serving:
Throw some ice cubes into a blender and pour the ingredients: rum, coconut milk and pineapple juice. Blend it until ice is well contrite. Pour everything into a glass and add a fee ice cubes. Pina Colada can be decorated with a piece of pineapple.
