Caipirinha is a drink originating from Brazil. Its main ingredients are Cachaça, which is a Brazilian alcoholic drink that is made from fermented sugarcane juice. Other ingredients include half a lime, sugar (white or brown) and lots of ice cubes. After preparation we get a cocktail that great combines sour taste of lime and sweet of sugar. The high content of ice makes the drink is great at hot summer days and evenings.
It is worth mentioning that the recipe for a caipirinha is on the official list of cocktails IBA (International Bartenders Association).
- Cachaca (50 ml)
- lime (half, cut into several pieces)
- sugar (white or brown; 2 teaspoons)
- ice cubes
Preparation and serving:
Half a lime cut into smaller pieces (4-8). Place them in a glass and pour in the two teaspoons of sugar. Using muddler squeeze of lime juice. Fill glass with ice cubes and pour cachaca. Pour everything into a shaker and shake a few times to mix the ingredients. Again, pour everything into a glass of old-fashioned type. In addition, the caipirinha can be decorated with a piece of lime.
